Standard cancellation schedule

When we receive your cancellationStandard refund of rental price
More than 48 hours before the hire begins100%
From 24 to 48 hours before the hire begins50%
Less than 24 hours before the hire beginsNo standard refund
No-show or cancellation after the hire beginsNo standard refund

This is our standard schedule. Any amount retained must be fair in the circumstances, taking account of costs and losses we reasonably incur and steps we can take to reduce them, including another booking. We will not retain more than a fair amount. This schedule does not reduce any cancellation or refund right you have by law.

1. How to cancel

Email goodleesuk@gmail.com with your name, booking number and hire dates. Cancellation takes effect when Goodlees receives your message. We will confirm it in writing.

Refunds are calculated using the scheduled collection or hire start time. The full rental price is paid at checkout; we do not currently take a security deposit.

Approved refunds go back to the original payment method. We aim to process them within five working days, although your bank or payment provider may take longer to display the money.

2. Changing dates or equipment

Ask as early as possible. A change is confirmed only when Goodlees agrees it in writing. Changes depend on availability and may change the price.

If your requested dates are unavailable, you may keep the original booking or cancel under the schedule above. Moving a booking does not reset the cancellation window: for a later cancellation, we may use the earlier of the original and revised start dates where this is necessary to prevent repeated changes from avoiding reasonable cancellation costs.

3. Late collection and no-shows

Contact us if you will miss the agreed collection time. We will make reasonable efforts to arrange another time, but the hire period and price do not automatically change.

If you do not attend, do not contact us and cannot reasonably be reached, the booking may be treated as a no-show. The equipment may then be released for another customer. Any amount retained will reflect a fair assessment of the circumstances and reasonable loss, subject to your legal rights.

4. If Goodlees changes or cancels

If the booked equipment becomes unavailable, we will offer a suitable replacement where possible. You do not have to accept a materially different substitute.

If we cannot fulfil the booking, or you reject a materially different replacement, you may choose rescheduling, account credit or a full refund of the affected booking. This does not limit any further remedy available by law for foreseeable loss.

5. Statutory cancellation and refund rights

Consumer cancellation rights depend on the nature and timing of the contract and service. Nothing in this policy excludes a right that applies to you under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other law.

If the law gives you a stronger right than the standard schedule, the legal right prevails. If you ask us to begin providing a service during a statutory cancellation period, we will explain any effect before acting on that request.
